Mystery Train of Schwabhausen

Half a mile west of Upper Bavarian Schwabhausen which is part of Weil near Landsberg / Lech there is burial field with three mass graves marked by three identically structured but sepately placed monuments at the railroad. The huge monuments  commemorate mass graves of kidnapped Jews who as prisoners worked in Kaufering complex of concentration camps, the biggest in Germany proper. A few days before the war ended, on April 27 in 1945 a train with exhausted and pinched prisoners was hit by an US air raid. Some 130 deaths were buried in three mass graves here.

Drei identische mit dem selben Text beschriebene Denkmale über drei Massengräbern mit geschätzten, bereits ausgemergelten und entkräfteten 130 KZ – Gefangenen, die versehentlich bei einem US-amerikanischen Flieger-Angriff ums Leben kamen. Die Namen sind unbekannt. lediglich ein Fall, ausgedrückt durch eine kleine an einem der Denkmal angebrachte Tafel, verrät einen der Toten:
