Unsurprisingly the city this New Year’s morning appears almost unpeopled. Much the same effect has the heavy fog. During the night the dense smoke of umpteen thousands of firecrackers displayed within 25 minutes or so after midnight blew up lots of dust. The gun powder smoke did not clear up, but during the night and the morning hours was joined by natural fog, so that the city still is befogged. Empty as foggy the city is contrasting to the overcrowded Christmas market pushing and shoving of the last 127 days.
